Library

The school library is open to students from 8.30 to 3.00 daily, welcoming secondary students before school, recess and lunchtimes. Primary students are welcome recess and lunchtimes.

Secondary students may eat recess and lunch in the library, with areas to lounge, complete puzzles, play chess, watch movies, use laptops or access library shelves.

There is also a piano for students to tinkle a tune or play duets!

Borrowing

Kindy to year 7 classes visit the library at least once per week for book exchanges. Borrowing is for one week,
however items can be extended by request. Library bags are required for Kindy to Year 3 students and encouraged for
other years.

Shelves are divided into age appropriate groups and include, Picture Books, Junior Fiction, Junior Non-fiction, Fiction,
Non-fiction, Picture Books for Older Readers and Young Adult. There is a small section of graphic novels for those
interested.

Overdues

Parents are encouraged to ensure students return library books on their child's designated library day so they do not become outstanding - the longer they are outstanding, the easier it is to lose them!

Loans can be extended on request if the book is presented to the counter.

Lost/damaged items

It is recognised that accidents happen and every care is made to resurrect damaged books so they can be returned to the shelves. Unfortunately, where there is water damage (mould invariably develops over time) and missing pages, or complete loss of the item, replacement is necessary. You will be asked to pay for the item or alternatively provide the library with a replacement.

Parents are encouraged to contact the Library Officer for any concerns with borrowing and outstanding items.
